In his first major independent release since winning the National Red Bull Emsee Competition in 2012, Mic Stewart is accompanied by nostalgic production courtesy of Philadelphia Producer SAMlive. Reminiscent of the “Golden Era” of Hip Hop, “I’m Not From Brooklyn” pays homage to the Mecca of Hip Hop while distancing Mic from the stereotypes of “real hip hop.” White, but not white trash; collegiate, but not frat rap; Stewart brings a brand new feeling to a classic sound and answers the question, ‘Who is Mic Stew?’
